Airmen now have more time to visit the Airman's Attic and loan closet at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. Saturday hours are now added to the schedule.

The Airman's Attic and loan closet will now be open on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 10 to 12 a.m. Top Three, an agency comprised of senior enlisted members, will run the outlet each Saturday that it will be open.

The original hours of the Airman's Attic are from 10 to 2p.m. every weekday. But not all Airmen could make those hours due to their work schedule.

"We're hoping to get more people to come in," said Melinda Wood, Airman's Attic and Loan Closet coordinator. "We also hope that the extra hours bring more donations in."

The Attic provides uniforms, clothes, and items for visitors all free of charge for any Airmen ranked E-5 and under. While the loan closet has items targeted more toward house hold goods.

"We'll usually do loans for a month at a time," said Wood. "But we can always do an extension if the family's items don't come in time."

Approximately 15 customers visit the Airman's Attic a day. Spouses of Airmen are also allowed to come and get what they need from the Attic and loan closet.

"We're here to help families in need," added Wood. "We want to make 'PCSing' easier for them. I'm excited, I think this will be good for everybody and we're going to get a good number of people to come in everyday just from adding the extra hours."
