'Logististicizing' our way to success Published June 28, 2012 By Lt. Col. Kyle Krover 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Greetings Team McConnell! It's an honor to be here as the new 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron commander. In my first week on station I've had the opportunity to meet many of our dedicated professionals and look forward to the opportunity to lead our skilled and capable logisticians for Air Mobility Command's premiere air refueling wing, where the 22nd LRS is focused on providing exceptional logistics support. The logistics readiness squadron covers a wide variety of areas from vehicle maintenance to air terminal cargo and passenger operations. We are also responsible for all base supply functions, aviation and ground fuels, and we are one of the key components of the wing mobility process. We directly support all organizations and functions on the base and work closely with our total force partners in the 184th Intelligence Wing and 931st Air Refueling Group. With such a broad scope of responsibility, there are many challenges with achieving and maintaining excellence in all areas. We strive daily to meet our customers' needs in a timely manner, focusing on responsive, accurate and professional service in a squadron with many diverse areas of responsibility. During my change of command ceremony, I related a quote from a former wing commander who once said, "We win wars by out-logististicizing our enemies." You won't find "out-logististicizing" in the dictionary, but the intent of his message really resonated with me. He recognized that our support functions pave the way for successful operations. The 22nd LRS will continue to strive toward a standard of excellence, focused on achieving exemplary logistics performance in all areas. We stand ready to play our part in support of AMC's premier air mobility tanker wing here at McConnell.
