Airman 1st Class James Michel, 384th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, has been in the Air Force for more than a year. He has been stationed at McConnell since completing technical school. When he's not refueling KC-135 Stratotankers, Michel enjoys going outdoors to hike, camp and ride horseback. He is also a fan of computer and video games.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My family has been one of the most important influences in my life. They have helped me grow into who I am today.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career?
I would like to see where all it takes me and who I will get to meet along the way.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
I have been to a few places, however, I would have to say being in the aircraft at 40,000 feet the view is amazing, and it kind of puts everything in perspective.

What is your favorite book/ movie and why?
My favorite books are in the "Black Jewel Trilogy," they are very well written and immersive. The author creates an amazing and vivid world. My favorite movies are the original Star Wars Trilogy, and as to why -- well hey, it's "Star Wars."

If you have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I am not really sure who I would like to meet. I tend to be pretty happy with who I meet throughout life.
