Senior Airman Ashley Rodriguez, 22nd Security Forces Squadron installation patrolman, has been in the Air Force for more than five years and has been stationed at McConnell for 10 months. Airman Rodriguez's hobbies include traveling, gardening, reading, kayaking, hiking and spending time with her husband.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?

My husband is my most positive influence in my life. We are best friends and have been for years now. I can't imagine what my life would be like without him.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career?
Well, I have already completed my Community College of the Air Force, so I can check that one off my list. Since that is out of the way I would have to say finishing my bachelor's degree. Knowledge is power, and I guess I'm just greedy. It's difficult for active-duty Airmen to take classes while juggling a full work schedule, but with the right motivation it's possible to accomplish anything.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
I had the privilege of being stationed in Germany for a few years, so in between trips to Afghanistan I was able to see a lot of Europe. Out of all of the wonderful places I have been, Rome is by far the most interesting. All the history and mystery surrounding that city leaves me in awe.

What is your favorite book/ movie and why?
My favorite book is "The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway. If you have ever read the book you'd understand why. His vivid detail of the Spanish countryside always makes me feel like I am in the story every time I read it.

If you have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

If I had the opportunity to meet anyone I'd love to sit down with Michael Jordan. He was one of the most important people in the world to me growing up, and who wouldn't want to meet Mike?
