Senior Airman Bethanya Abebe has served in the Air Force for almost three years. She has been stationed at McConnell since completing her technical school training in September 2007. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, playing sports, watching movies, reading, watching television shows, listening to music, playing games and spending time at the beach.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My parents have had the most influence on my life. They have always been there for me and will always be there. They are loving, caring and genuinely nice people. They treat everyone equally and have inspired me to do the same. I treat others as I would like to be treated and give respect no matter who they are. They have also taught me to follow the "Golden Rules" and I am trying to do that by always trying to look for the good in others.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career?
Currently I am a student at Friends University and my goal is to get my Community College or the Air Force degree by the end of 2010, finish my bachelor's degree by 2011 and continue my master's degree soon after. Love in God is an internal achievement beyond any earthly description or experience and far beyond the value of anything I ever could achieve on earth.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
I have visited a few places but my favorite was Europe because I had a chance to watch European soccer team players in person. I am a fan of the Arsenal and Barcelona's soccer teams.

What is your favorite book/ movie and why?
One of my favorite books is "The power of nice" by Linda Kaplan Thaler and Robin Koval. This book demonstrates how nice and success go hand-in-hand. Good work with kindness is the best strategy for rising to the top in professional and personal life. And one of my favorite movies is "All about you." It is a beautiful love story and I liked it.

If you have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?

If I have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, it would be anyone genuinely nice, who cares about other people and inspires them. President Barack Obama is on my list.
