Tech. Sgt. Cesar Flores is a Fort Worth, Texas, native and has served in the Air Force for eight years. He has been stationed at McConnell for two months. When he is not at work he enjoys fishing, spending time on a firing range and reading his professional development guide.

What do you enjoy most about McConnell? All Air Force bases are pretty much the same, but I noticed the local community members here have created a very friendly and inviting atmosphere. They really seem to appreciate the military.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? First and foremost, serving honors those who came before us and the sacrifices they gave. Serving is the least I can do. Secondly, it is to lead and manage Airmen to ensure someday they're fully capable of taking my job.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force Career? I want to learn my new job because I recently re-trained. I would like to make master sergeant the first time I test for it, finish my degree and become chief master sergeant of the Air Force ... there's only one at any given time.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why? My wife, Leticia, is the most positive influence. She has fully supported me during my entire military career. Even when I'm gone on deployment, sometimes nine months at a time, she keeps things running smoothly at home, raises our two children and maintains a job.

What would you be most proud to tell your parents? The way they raised me is indicative of the person I have become, both professionally and on a personal basis.

What would you like to tell someone who is considering joining the Air Force? Go for it! I believe serving in the Air Force can fit anyone's needs. Whether it is a career or a stepping stone into bigger aspirations, the Air Force can accommodate. Just understand the Air Force is more than a job, it is a commitment, and it will sometimes require you to sacrifice a lot.
