Deployment out-processing appointments

Over the past few months, the staff of McConnell Public Health has worked to find ways to better serve the needs of deploying Airmen. Throughout the process, Public Health and the 22nd Medical Group listened to deployers and to Unit Deployment Managers.

It's resulted in a new deployment out-processing appointment system that will reduce waiting times while ensuring optimal care at the Deployment Clinic. The improved process allows Airmen to go through the McConnell Public Health webpage (https://afkm.wpafb.af.mil.mcconnell.ph) and schedule their deployment out-processing appointments.

Some benefits of this process include:

1) Airmen can book appointments around their schedules and training requirements. Emails are sent to members and their UDMs confirming the appointment time.

2) Airmen will be emailed a link to the online Pre-Deployment Health Assessment (DD Form 2795), allowing them to fill it out before their initial out-processing appointment. This helps reduce the amount of items needed to be completed at the clinic and allows time to address any medical concerns related to the deployment.

3) Medical records are prescreened and efforts are made to contact Airmen concerning additional appointments needed before the member arrives for the initial out-processing appointment.

The overall goal of the new process is to alleviate long wait times and reduce multiple visits to the clinic. This should also alleviate some of the leg work Airmen must complete upon arriving to the clinic. This process is new and may undergo minor changes as it is fine tuned. Hopefully, this will make deployment out-processing as smooth and quick as possible.
