AMDS highlights one of its own Published July 15, 2009 By Staff Sgt. Ronald Lafosse 22nd Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Staff Sgt. Bethany Baiocco 22nd Aerospace Medicine Squadron medical standards non-commissioned officer in charge Sergeant Baiocco is from St. Clairsville, Ohio and has been in the Air Force for eight years and five months. She has been station at McConnell for two years and five months. When she's not at work, she enjoys reading, fishing, spending time with her boyfriend and friends. What do you enjoy most about McConnell? I enjoy how the base and community work together to bring joy and happiness to so many people, military and civilian. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? Serving in the Air Force is important to me because it gives me the opportunity to understand and appreciate what our core values, mission, priorities and functions bring to the joint fight. It also makes me proud of who I am and what I have accomplished for myself and the Air Force. What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career? I feel like I have already accomplished so much. I enlisted with the dream of finishing school and I have received a CCAF and bachelor's degree in Public Health and have almost finished my master's degree in Business Administration. Who is the most positive influence in your life and why? My parents are the most positive influence in my life. They taught me to never give up and I can do whatever I want if I give it my all. They have instilled respect, courage, thankfulness and honesty in me and without their support and love I wouldn't be the person I am today. They mean the world to me. What would you be most proud to tell your parents? I would be most proud to tell them that their little girl has become an American Airman who is proud to serve her country. What would you like to tell someone who is considering joining the Air Force? I would tell them that everybody counts. No one, no job, no specialty is more important than any other. Everyone matters and everyone is an important part of the team and of course that they will be serving in the greatest Air Force in the world.
