Staff Sgt. Kevin Dunham, 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron structural journeyman, was selected as the spotlight performer for the week of Aug. 3 through 9. Dunham, a Binghamton, N.Y., native, joined the Air Force in August, 2009 and has been a member of Team McConnell since March 2010. As a structural journeyman, he leads a team in charge of inspecting and rating the condition of every facility on base. When he's not on duty, he enjoys spending time with his family, weight lifting, watching sports, and being outdoors. "Dunham has been instrumental in establishing inspection methods, criteria, and processes for our new tracking program that will be vital to its success in the future," said 2nd Lt. Hilary Lehr, 22nd CES operations engineering chief. Who is the most positive influence in your life and why? My wife and sons are the most positive influence in my life. They keep me motivated and give me a reason to do the best I can. If you could give advice to a new Airman, what would it be and why? My advice to a new Airman would be to set some personal and professional goals and work toward achieving them. What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career? One goal I would like to eventually achieve is getting my bachelor's degree. I'd like to earn it while I'm still on active duty. Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way? The most interesting place I have travelled would be to Seoul, South Korea. I got to enjoy a completely different culture and way of life while I was there. If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why? I would like to meet UFC president Dana White and learn some tips on better business processes and practices. Although he is an avid fight promoter, he is an excellent businessman and is a very intelligent person.
