As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating the Air Force's Core Values: Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.

Airman 1st Class Alex Woosley, 344th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, was selected to be the 22nd Air Refueling Wing spotlight performer for the week of July 29 to Aug. 2.

Woosley, who has been in the Air Force since December 2011 and at McConnell AFB since March 2013, is responsible for refueling aircraft through the boom pod onboard the KC-135 Stratotankers stationed here.

The San Diego, Calif., native enjoys fishing, playing football and working on cars and motorcycles during his off-duty time.

"Since arriving at McConnell, he has excelled as a boom operator as well as an all around Airman," said Lt. Col. Travis Edwards, 344th ARS commander.

Woosley completed his mission qualification training 30 days ahead of schedule in addition to finishing all ancillary training five months early.

His ability and qualifications led to Woosley being hand-selected to showcase the boom operator's mission during incentive flights offered to first-term Airmen, said Travis.
