LRS unit drives McConnell
The 70th Medium Truck Detachment gathers for a prayer before a convoy mission, June 20, 2009, Forward Operating Base Kalsu, Iraq. McConnell’s 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle operations unit has had personnel assigned to 36 Joint Expeditionary Taskings to Arifjan, Kuwait. As a whole unit, they have moved more than 936,000 tons of cargo, accomplished 540 outside the wire missions and drove 1.4 million miles throughout treacherous Iraqi roads. LRS unit drives McConnell
Staff Sgt. Michael Glaser, 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle operator/dispatcher, inspects the moving parts of a 10,000 pound capacity forklift Aug. 3, 2010, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. The vehicles are inspected after a customer returns it and on a daily basis to ensure operational and safety standards are met. The vehicle operations unit currently has vehicles available for loan out to personnel for official travel during temporary duty orders at McConnell.
