AFRC assists military families
Team McConnell spouses and children clean up toys after play group activities, Wednesday, at building 804, March 12, 2010,McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. The free play group program, sponsored by the Airman and Family Readiness Center, provides children ages under 1 to five-years-old to play games and participate in educational activities with other children and their parents. The building is next to the Airman’s Attic and is open 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and open 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday. The new location for the play group is scheduled to open sometime at the end of summer 2010. For more information contact the play group coordinator Kelsey Riff at (316) 759-1773. “My hero” dolls, Operation Rest pillowcases and the teddy bear program are family services offered by the Airman and Family Readiness Center at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. “My hero” dolls and personalized pillowcases are for the families of servicemembers who are deployed, on a remote tour or at a temporary duty station more than 30 days. The teddy bear program gives bears to hospitalized or ill children and Air Force uniformed bears for Air Force children whose military parent has passed away while on active duty.
