MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- A group of runners participate in the Wichita Marathon Oct. 21. About 10 miles of the marathon was held on base. Some of the runners participated to compete and win; others did it for individual goals and simply for the love of running. Chief Master Sgt. Robert Blakeborough (left), 22nd Maintenance Squadron, and Chief Master Sgt. Steve Herder (right), 22nd MXG, present a $100 McConnell Chief’s Group Scholarship to Tech. Sgt. Steven Brightwell, 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Oct. 18 for Sergeant Brightwell’s essay entry. Scholarships are awarded by the chiefs group quarterly. The chief’s group actively supports the enlisted community by providing the opportunity to receive assistance towards furthering Airmen’s education.
