McConnell establishes new 'dorm details' program
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Airman Timothy Head, 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron, takes out the garbage from the gazebo area of the Airmen dorms July 25. MCCONNELL AIR FORE BASE, Kan. -- Master Sgt. James Richardson, 22nd Mission Support Squadron first sergeant, counts push-ups for Senior Master Sgt. Mitchell Eck, 22nd Medical Group first sergeant, during a base wide push-up contest here July 20. The contest was held to raise money for the upcoming McConnell Air Force Ball in September. The top male performer in the 30-plus category was Sergeant Richardson. The top female performer in the same category was Lt. Col. Nancy Bozzer, 348th Air Refueling Squadron. The top male performer in the under 30 category was Senior Airman Michael Kraus, 22nd Comptroller Squadron, and the top female performer in the same category was Senior Airman Sharnai Skinner-Woodruff, 349th Air Refueling Squadron. "Stampede of the Buffalos" presented to McConnell ITT
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Dana Bennett, Information, Ticket and Tours travel consultant, Kim Staib, ITT specialist, and Lavonda Norrod, ITT director, are presented the bronze “Stampede of the Buffalos” award by Heather McKain, a performer at Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede located in Branson, Mo., July 25. The statuette honors the military travel services that ITT brings to active-duty, retired military personnel and their families. “I wanted to express my appreciation to the military bases for all they do for morale and welfare of service families,” said Dolly Parton in a statement accompanying the award. “Big Fat Fun” band members Tommy McClure, guitar player, April Turner, vocalist, Tom Henry, drummer, Jason Shire, lead vocals and Dave Keller, base guitar player, perform July 13 at McConnell’s Open House picnic at the Robert J. Dole Community Center. The base held the picnic to honor military members and their families. Approximately 1,800 people attended the event. Derby police fingerprint McConnell youths
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Brandon Bansemer, Derby police officer enters identification information into a computer, while his partner Matt Liston, a DPD Master police officer, records the finger prints of Jacobbi Sterling,4, a McConnell family member at the Child Development Center July 16 during a Kid ID program event. The program allows the police department to record children’s information such as fingerprints, picture identification, dental records and x-rays to help find or identify youths who go missing. Air Force Reserve jet car speeds down McConnell's run way
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. -- Scott Hammack races the Air Force Reserve jet car down the flightline July 14 at McConnell’s Open House, which took place here July 14-15. The car eventually reached a speed of 381 miles per hour as it sped across the flightline during the event. Mr. Hammack is a veteran who served in Vietnam, and for the 26 years, he has raced his personally-developed jet car at public events for the Air Force Reserve. (Photo by Airman Justin Shelton)
