petting zoo
Tommy Cyphers, son of Staff. Sgt. Thomas Cyphers, 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron, gently hugs a chicken at the petting zoo June 14. Tommy, like many other children, was able to get up close and personal with the animals at the pool pavilion. Children from the School Age program attended as well as McConnell family members. The event was sponsored by the Mc Connell Library as one of the weekly activities for the summer reading program “Get a Clue.” Participants also received a MatchUP ticket. Air Force Tidbit: Respect for the United States flag
The 22nd Operations Group performs a Retreat ceremony June 7 in front of Bldg. 1. The OG renders proper respect for the United States flag. - No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the USA. The US flag will never be displayed upside down except as a signal of distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, always aloft or free. The flag should never touch anything beneath it such as the ground, floor, water or merchandise. The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding or drapery and when hanged should always be allowed to fall free. The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled or damaged in any way. The flag should never be decorated, nor should it have attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
