Team McConnell travels world in one day
Team McConnell members visit a table showcasing Japanese culture at an Airman and Family Readiness Center International Fair at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Sept. 26, 2009. Event participants visited 12 tables representing different countries. The annual fair is designed to teach military families about Air Force bases around the world. McConnell Airman recieves Bronze Star
Gen. William M. Fraser III, Air Combat Command commander, presented Lt. Col. Roman Hund, 22nd Mission Support Group deputy commander, with the Bronze Star Medal at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., Sept. 25, 2009. Colonel Hund received the Bronze Star for an outstanding job performance while deployed to Iraq, according to the award citation. According to Air Mobility Command safety experts, as the popularity of sport bikes grows among Airmen, so does the number of injuries and fatalities. McConnell Airmen are required to wear a helmet, eye protection, a long-sleeved upper garment, long pants, sturdy, over-the-ankle footwear and full-fingered gloves when riding sport bikes or motorcycles.
