Rolling up sleeves for American Red Cross

Senior Airman Ryan Jones, 22nd Communications Squadron network technician, donates blood during the quarterly blood drive July 27, 2012, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Jones’ blood is collected and processed using a component collection machine, separating the blood’s components and putting the red blood cells in a blood bag. The remaining components return to the donor. This process allows the blood to be completely processed and delivered to blood banks within 24 hours. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class Katrina M.
