General Byers visits McConnell

Maj. Gen. Timothy Byers, U.S. Air Force Headquarters Civil Engineer, speaks to McConnell’s 22nd Civil Engineer and Force Support Squadron leadership members during his site visit to a contingency construction project at the Krueger Recreation Area Aug. 18, 2010, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. Engineers are building communal showers and laundry facilities in the recreation area to match similar structures currently under construction by deployed engineers in Afghanistan. These construction projects help 22nd CES Airmen prepare for wartime deployment construction projects where structures are built from the bare foundation to the roof, to include the concrete pad, electrical, plumbing and heating and ventilation aspects. The 22nd CES is the only Air Mobility Command base to currently have contingency work order credit to assist in funding for other similar projects in the future.
