Big for a Day

Children from Sedgewick County’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program try on pilot helmets presented by Airmen of the 22nd Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment section during a “Big for a Day” event inside Hangar 1107, Aug. 5, 2010, McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. The event is hosted by the 349th Air Refueling Squadron, and is an opportunity for the children to experience the base and develop long-lasting bonds with Airmen stationed here. Big Brothers Big Sisters helps boys and girls, most of whom are considered at-risk and live in single parent homes, achieve their full potential through long-term personal relationships with carefully screened and caring volunteers.
