McConnell EST trains with county law enforcement

Staff Sgt. Christopher Somers, 22nd Security Forces Squadron, participates in an “active shooter” course with local Sedgwick county law enforcement members July 26 in Wichita. McConnell security forces members from the Emergency Services Team participate in the training to learn how to respond and contain an armed suspect who has access to a large group of victims, such as the recent school shootings at West Virginia University. The EST team is closely modeled after civilian police Special Weapons and Tactics teams. (Photo by Airman 1st Class Jessica Lockoski)
