MCCONNELL AIR FOCE BASE, Kan. -- Stephen Matthews, 22nd Civil Engineer Squadron deputy, Lt. Col. Tony Marlow, 22nd Logistics Readiness Squadron commander, Col. James Vechery, 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander, and Chris Prinslow, Chief of Construction of Kansas City, unveil McConnell’s new hydrant fuel system at a ribbon cutting ceremony, April 4. The $17.2 million project added two, 400,000 gallon fuel tanks, seven fuel hydrants and relocated 12 existing hydrants to support incoming aircraft assets due to the Air Force’s Base Realignment and Closure process.
