The Operation Freedom Memorial sits among many other war memorials in the Veteran’s Memorial Park, May, 18, 2014, in Wichita, Kansas. The monument is a symbol of tribute to Kansas fallen service members from Operation Desert Storm to current, ongoing conflicts in the war on terrorism. The gray, granite floor pavers contain the names of people serve or have served in the military. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Jess Lockoski)
