Fixing the tail

Airman Andrew Kampe, 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron communication navigation technician, removes a high-frequency coupler from the vertical stabilizer of a KC-135 Stratotanker Feb. 28, 2014, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. The coupler amplifies signals coming to and from the aircraft’s antenna. Kampe’s wingman and supervisor spot him from below to provide visual guidance and reduce potential hazards.
