McConnell water tower gets re-lamped

A helicopter takes off after unloading an airfield beacon from the base water tower, Feb. 3, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. The airfield beacon indicates the location of a military installation’s airfield to pilots during night missions. The old beacon was nearing the end of its service life and had to be replaced before it failed. (U.S. Air Force photo/Airman 1st Class David Bernal Del Agua)
