Bombers, fighters, tankers oh my!

Airman 1st Class Joseph Cadwallader, 349th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator, refuels a B-52 Stratofortress, Sept. 2, 2015, over Kansas. The KC-135 has been in service since the 1950s, and was originally designed to be able to keep up with modern, jet engine-powered aircraft like the B-52. The KC-135 is assigned to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan., and the B-52 is assigned to the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale AFB, La. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Airman Jenna K.
