Big for a day
McConnell Airmen interact with children from the local community during the annual “Big for a Day” event, Aug. 9, 2016, at McConnell Air Force Base, Kan. The event, in conjunction with the organization Big Brothers Big Sisters, allowed children to learn about different jobs in the Air Force with demonstrations from base organizations like the fire department and military working dogs. “We’re hoping the kids learn and have fun today,” said Amanda Foy, Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer enrollment specialist. “And we are also hoping to recruit some more volunteers for the program and match the kids we have here on our waiting list with a positive role model.” (U.S. Air Force photos/Airman 1st Class Jenna K.
