Erosion Control Study

Daryline Dayzie drops a sample into a bucket held by Jorge Serrano as they and their fellow Kansas State University student, Josh Wurtz, survey McConnell Creek on June 16, 2022, on McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. The team collected samples of splinter-sized invertebrates to assess the health and density of the river's aquatic population before modifying the creek's shoreline as part of their erosion control study. The study is being conducted over the next several months at several rivers and creeks across Kansas. (U.S. Air Force photo by John Van Winkle)
