    The terms “air refueling base” and “ammunition” are probably not linked in the minds of most people. But when it comes to all things ammo at McConnell Air Force Base, the 22nd Maintenance Squadron’s munitions flight runs the show behind the scenes.

    On Saturday, April 18, a McConnell KC-135 Stratotanker refueled the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron “Thunderbirds,” who were en route to perform flyovers in Colorado for both the Air Force Academy graduation and front line medical professionals combating COVID-19.
