As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating one or more of the 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander's intents: Foster a culture of excellence ... Develop the next generation of leaders ... Set and achieve goals.

Airman 1st Class Wyatt Witt, 22nd Air Refueling Wing command post controller, was chosen as the spotlight performer for the week of Dec. 17 to 21, 2012.

Witt has been in the Air Force for almost one year and at McConnell for more than six months. In his free time, he enjoys playing the guitar, sports, hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

As a command post controller he develops, maintains and initiates quick reaction checklists supporting situations such as safety, natural disasters, aircraft accidents or incidents, evacuations, dispersal and aerospace anomalies.

"Witt coordinated with air traffic control and wing leadership during December's Treaty of Open Skies aircraft arrival, alerting key members of the inbound aircraft," said Capt. Eric Waldo, 22nd ARW command post chief. "It is no wonder why Witt was recently certified as command post junior controller 25-percent faster than his peers."

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
The most positive influence in my life is my dad because he always supports me no matter what. I could talk to him about anything.

If you could give advice to a new Airman, what would it be and why?
The advice I would give to a new Airman would be to always work hard and have fun at whatever base you happen to be stationed at and to be involved and stay fit.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career?
My goal is to become an officer. I would like to commission as a pilot or special tactics officer.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
Honestly, California's mountains and beaches are the most interesting places I have been to because they are gorgeous and full of outdoor fun.

If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I would have liked to have met my grandpa. He joined the Marines when he was 17 and was at Guadalcanal. He would have tons of stories and advice.
