As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating one or more of the 22nd ARW commander' s intents: Foster a culture of excellence ... Develop the next generation of leaders ... Set and achieve goals.

Tech. Sgt. Scott Eidson, 22nd Air Refueling Wing Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century NCO in charge, was selected as the 22nd Air Refueling Wing Spotlight performer for the week of June 18 to June 22, 2012.

As the AFSO21 NCOIC, Eidson manages McConnell's continuous process improvement efforts, provides various training opportunities and helps drive improved mission performance.

Eidson joined the Air Force Sept, 28, 1998. He has been stationed at McConnell since 2009. When he's not on duty, Eidson spends his free time with his wife Shannon, and their five children.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My dad because he taught me that what we acquire in this world is not as important as what we leave the world with.

If you could give advice to a new Airman, what would it be and why?
The journey is more important than the destination. You must take advantage of every opportunity life gives you.

What is one goal that you have already accomplished, or would like to accomplish, during your Air Force career?
One of the fondest memories of my career (thus far) was being part of the Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, Honor Guard. I have never had such a hard, but satisfying job.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
I've been to some great places, and some not so great places, but the most "interesting" would have to be Los Alamos, N.M. I had the opportunity to hang out with some of the greatest scientific minds in the world! Interesting is the perfect word.

If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I would like to have met many people, but the people that come to my mind first are the Wright brothers.
