22nd AMXS member earns spotlight performer

As a spotlight performer, individuals are chosen by leadership for demonstrating one or more of the 22nd ARW commander's intents: Foster a culture of excellence ... Develop the next generation of leaders ... Set and achieve goals.

Senior Airman Ryan Haught, 22nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron aircraft electrical and environmental systems journeyman, has met the 22nd Air Refueling Wing commander's intent of developing the next generation of leaders. One the ways of Haught accomplishes this is by setting the example for others to follow. His steadfast expertise allowed him to isolate a faulty supply cord which caused an external power failure.

Haught has been in the Air Force for 3 1/2 years and has been stationed at McConnell for just three years. In his spare time, the Iowa City, Iowa, native enjoys motorcycles and cars.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My parents are the most positive influence in my life. They support me with anything I do.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career?
I would like to leave a positive influence on new Airmen in order to make the most positive atmosphere possible.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
Diego Garcia is the most interesting place I have been because not many people get to go there. It is basically an untouched island with no tourists, which is impossible to find these days, and I was getting paid to be there.

What is your favorite book/ movie and why?
Anchorman is my favorite movie because it's hilarious.

If you have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
If I had the opportunity to meet anyone it would be Michael Schumacher. He's one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers in the world and I like Formula 1 racing.
