22nd SFS member earns spotlight performer

Senior Airman Erik Ippel, 22nd Security Forces Squadron resource protection manager, has been stationed at McConnell since completion of technical school. The Yorktown, Ind., native enjoys running, camping and canoeing and has been at McConnell for three years with his wife Angela. The couple is expecting their first child.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
My wife is my most positive influence because she makes sure that I keep a good attitude and outlook on life. She also makes sure that I stay thankful for what we have.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career?
I would like to finish my bachelor's degree in Environmental Technology.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
Xocempich, Mexico is the most interesting place I've been. I spent two weeks there on a mission trip with my church.

What is your favorite book/ movie and why?
My favorite book is "The Gunslinger," by Stephen King. I just finished it last week when I was on a temporary duty assignment and it's different than any other fictional book I have read. My favorite movie is "Four Rooms." Tim Roth cracks me up.

If you have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I would like to meet my Grandpa Postma. He died before I was old enough to remember him. I was talking with my Uncle Jeff the other day about him and I wish I had had the opportunity to meet him.
