First Lt. Veronica Hoskinson, 22nd Mission Support Group executive officer has been in the Air Force for almost three years and has been stationed at McConnell for two and a half years. Lieutenant Hoskinson's hobbies include running, reading and collecting shoes.

Who is the most positive influence in your life and why?
The most positive influence is my father who always supported me in my endeavors and forbade me from any service other than the Air Force. Also Charles, my husband, who is my best friend, peer and overall partner in life; he's my number one fan and lets me be me.

What would you like to accomplish during your Air Force career?
I would like to gain unique life experiences and to mentor and inspire others to create life goals and develop a plan on how to achieve those goals.

Where is the most interesting place you have traveled and why do you feel that way?
The most interesting place I've traveled to is Jamaica. Not only was it a beautiful place but it was interesting to see the huge differences in economic class and the positive and negative effects that globalization and tourism can have.

What is your favorite book/ movie and why?
My favorite book is "Archangel" and movie is "Pride and Prejudice;" in both stories the characters overcome personal/internal struggles and in so doing, better their lives and those around them.

If you have the opportunity to meet anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
I would like to meet Colin Powell. Watching him speak to the United Nations after the events of 9/11 inspired me to pursue my education in political science/international relations. After researching his career, I traced his beginnings back to Army ROTC and that's what inspired me to apply for an Air Force ROTC scholarship and begin my adventure with the Air Force. I am positive that my life would be completely different if I wouldn't have been inspired by the life and work of Colin Powell.
