An F-16 Fighting Falcon Thunderbird flies through New Mexico skies after being refueled by a KC-135 Stratotanker Oct. 15, 2020. The traditional multirole fighter aircraft has a limited range due to the smaller airframe and requires aerial refueling support to reach further distances. McConnell’s very own Keeper
Miniature Keeper of the Plains are displayed throughout the city of Wichita, Oct. 13, 2020. The original Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot tall sculpture, which was designed by Native American artist Blackbear Bosin in 1974. McConnell Air Force Base is hosting a competition for artists to submit their own Keeper design. The Keeper will be displayed on the installation in early 2021.
